Join the hub

Who can become a member?

Three requirements apply to membership of the hub:

1. You live in Hamburg or the metropolitan region. Our projects take place locally, so we need you here too.
2. You are under 28. This is a rule of the worldwide Global Shapers Community. Anyone who passes the age limit during their membership stays connected to the hub as an alum.
3. You want to actively shape projects. Membership means taking part – with your own idea or in an ongoing project.

A particular degree, job or background is explicitly not required. We are interested in what you want to do, not in what your CV says.

How does the application work?

We welcome new members in application rounds. The process:

1. You send us a short application – who you are and what drives you.
2. We invite you to a get-to-know-you conversation with two hub members.
3. You join one of our meetings and get to know the hub.
4. After that we decide together on your admission.

Still unsure?

You don't need to bring a finished project. If you are not sure whether the hub is right for you, just write to us – we are happy to answer questions before you apply.
