Impact in numbers

As of October 2026. We measure after every workshop and survey the schools at the end of the school year.

  • 24 workshops held Target: 30 · 80 % of target
  • 1,150 students reached Target: 1,500 · 77 % of target
  • 12 partner schools Target: 12 · 100 % of target

The challenge

Many teenagers worry about the climate but see little in class that they can do themselves. District schools in particular often lack the time and materials for hands-on projects.

Our approach

In a three-hour workshop, students examine their own school's carbon footprint – from lunch boxes to heating. They then develop a concrete project in small groups and carry it out with the support of a teacher.

  • Workshops are led by trained Shapers, always in pairs.
  • Materials are free and reusable for further rounds.
  • Teachers receive a short training so the format stays at the school.

What we have achieved so far

Since the pilot in June 2025, 24 workshops have taken place at twelve schools. They have produced 31 school projects, such as a bike repair day, a clothes swap and an energy-saving club.

What comes next

By the end of 2026 we want to reach 1,500 students and document the format so that schools can continue it without us.

Project team

The project is run on a voluntary basis by five members of the Hamburg Hub.
